FRACTOGRAPHY
Fractography is the study of the fracture surfaces of materials. Fractographic methods provide us with various information related to the cause of failure and facture mechanisms and are routinely used to determine the cause of failure in engineering components. Using a scanning electron microscope (SEM) and an energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopic analyzer (EDX), we evaluate fracture morphology and analyze element distribution in damaged components, providing highly-reliable data.
