Introduction to Electron Backscatter Diffraction (EBSD)

　We are pleased to　announce that our laboratory has introduced a new Electron Backscatter Diffraction (EBSD) analysis system. We have created a leaflet detailing this system, which is provided below.

　While crystalline materials such as metals may appear uniform at the macro scale (mm to m), they often display non-uniform crystal structures at the micro scale (µm to nm). These crystal structures may significantly affect the properties of the materials, including their strength. Therefore, this information is crucial for material development. Our new equipment provides local crystal information on crystalline materials using electron beams. The leaflet provides an overview of the principles of EBSD and examples of its outputs.
