Dilatometer and Xenon Flash have been introduced.

A dilatometer (NETZSCH DIL 402 Expedis Supreme) and xenon flash (NETZSCH LFA467 Hyper Flash) have been added to our equipment. We are the first private analytical laboratory in Japan that has installed these state-of-the-art instruments.

A dilatometer (DIL) is used to measure the coefficient of thermal expansion. A DIL has measurement accuracy higher than a general thermomechanical analyzer (TMA). A DIL measures a thermal expansion coefficient on the order of 10-7 while TMA measures it on the order of 10-6.
A DIL is mainly used for low-expansion materials such as glass and invar. The thermal expansion coefficient of these materials are generally on the order of 10-7, the accuracy which is now available in our laboratory.

A xenon flash (XF) is an instrument that measures thermal conductivity and different from a laser flash (LF), which we have, in the type of its light source. An XF uses xenon light; an LF uses laser light.
An XF measures thin materials using pulses on the order of microseconds (pulses on the order of milliseconds for LF). For example, an XF measures the thermal conductivity of a 500-μm-thick piece of Cu (extremely high conductive material), which an LF does not.
